Where Heart and soul come together

Taco's Pride

May 6, 1988 - July 21, 2010

For Bogus

Blue skies, setting suns, clouds and

Wind and rain - mountains and meadows - together.

Safe from harm, light from darkness,

Rest from fatigue.

Patience, skills, renewed confidences -

Taught with touch and tremor, eye and

And out of these -  a respect and caring,

Out of caring - love.

Out of love - belief.

Life in time passes quickly -  and within

The passage lie infinite memories -

Encompassed in his unrelenting

Presence -  transcending time.

No moment is without him -  leader,

Teach, friend and confidant - forever.

A  remembrance of some

special horses

“ He taught me about love,

A lot about my life

Then he taught me how to say goodbye .“

From the song “Goodbye”

By Mare Ann Kennedy

The prairie blows the grasses

And whips the horse’s mane,

They travel, horse and rider,

Through the sea of amber grain

Hills roll by, and clouds pass

But steady are the horse’s hooves

Upon the wind blown grass

As they travel, horse and rider

There is no trail that they follow

No pat that can be seen

There they travel, horse and rider

Upon the endless blowing green

Love from the Doyle family

You have travelled miles to come to this place,

To live in a community of horses and humans supported by the ancient earth, Enfolded by mountains of rock and ice, All beneath the vast blue of a prairie sky,

A place where heart and soul come together.

We offer you our hearts - full of gratitude and love for all the you are.

We honour your gentle soul and trusting heart.

We honour your great strength of spirit  -  a spirit strong enough to hold our fear and uncertainty.

You recognized our fragility and guided us to find our own strength and wisdom.

You were a teacher to young and old, to horse and human.

Gratitude and kindness guided you being. We have been blessed by your presence here among us and we hold you up as you journey from this world to the next.

We take comfort in the knowledge  that

Love is eternal

And our hearts will forever be joined.

In the words of Sequoyah Trueblood:

“Great thanks,

Great Peace,

Great Love”

From all of us to you.

Jan Hornford

“ Somewhere, somewhere in time’s own space

There must be some sweet pastured place

Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow

Some Paradise where horses go

For by the love that guides my pen

I know great horses live again. “

If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you've made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand. - Unknown

My Best Friend Doc

He looks at me with his loving eyes.

I know it’s time to say goodbye.

He taught me how to love and to never give up even in your darkest hour,

But now I know it’s the last petal of his flower.

Doc is so spirited and caring,

Yet now we know he is not fairing.

The wind will take Doc away, up to the heavens they say.

I am not sad,

I am glad.

For I know that heaven will have greener fields

And have sweeter meals.

Doc is not dead,

As I always said.

His soul is free,

He is the lock to my key.

We will all miss Doc,

and he will always be in our thought.

Somewhere in time's own space

There must be some sweet pastured place

Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow

Some paradise where horses go,

For by the love that guides my pen

I know great horses live again.

To place your horse's need for you to let him leave his failing body above your need to keep him with you - that - is the greatest and purest love.

Cynthia Garret

Isabel knew when she met him, they were destined to be together. Cheveyo, her spirit warrior was Isabel’s first horse and even though he was only with her a very short time, they learned many lessons together. The most important lesson being to trust in herself and her abilities.
